Tea Towel - 100% cotton Flour Sack Towel, 2 Mice done in Granite Grey with the words "Mice on Main" directly below them. Each mouse is the outline of the state of South Carolina made to be a characterization of a mouse. This beautiful towel is a multi-purpose vintage kitchen towel that is very soft, highly absorbent, lent free, pre-washed and is 27" x 27".
The design on this towel is a cute reference to the Mice on Main scavenger hunt which was actually a high school senior project of Jim Ryan's in 2000. The scavenger hunt is one of the wonderful free adventures that are available in beautiful downtown Greenville, SC. You can find details on the scavenger hunt and the history of the mice at https://www.visitgreenvillesc.com/things-to-do/signature-experiences/mice-on-main/ (yeah that greenville - visitgreenvillesc.com).

Vintage flour sack towels have been a staple in cleaning and cooking since the 1800's when supplier started using the flour sacks to package their flour, sugar, corn meal, chicken feed, and other foods to cut down on the use of bulky wooden barrels. These tightly woven cotton towel are making a big comeback because they are lint free, useful, natural, absorbent, and are superior to the terry dish towel. While these sacks got America through some of the toughest times, they also taught how to become resourceful and use items found around our homes.
